When someone says they don't like speculative fiction because it's "not realistic" I'm always reminded of this meme 😂

Screenshot of the CEO of Monsters Inc being arrested. Caption: In Monsters Inc (2001), the wealthy CEO of Monsters Inc is held accountable for his actions. This is to remind the audience that the movie is a work of fiction.

When someone says they don't like speculative fiction because it's "not realistic" I'm always reminded of this meme 😂

I know some people say they don't read speculative fiction because it's "not realistic" well guess what 😜😂

Photo of Baron Harkonnen from the 1984 Dune film. Caption: I quite like the 1984 film version of Dune, but the characters are a bit far fetched. An obese, orange, diseased peadophile starting a war for his own selfish needs. Come on.

One of these is better than the others

by
Meme compairing three Fantasy writers worldbuilding: J.K Rowling: Only start creating a lore after you already finished half of the series and keep adding stuff a decade after finishing it G.R.R Martin: Steal 90% of your deep lore from real life history and other authors to fill out your world map J.R.R Tolkien: Create an entire universe with a bloody, theological history with of hundreds of characters and dozens of devastating wars, then write a childrens book in it

One of these is better than the others... you know the one I mean 😁

It's almost like publishers don't know the Spice of Life when they see it 😜😂

by
Two panel meme of a person being uplifted by an angel. Panel one: Frank Herbert getting rejected by every credible publisher. Panel two: A company that specializes in car repair manuals thinking his story about giant worms and space drugs is kinda neat.

It's almost like publishers don't know the Spice of Life when they see it 😜😂

Completly misunderstanding how society works is what tech bros do best!

by
Drawing of a tech bro being interviewed by the standard tech bro sychophant. Tech bro: “Philip K. Dick. Ray Bradbury. Like so many others in tech, I draw inspiration from completely misunderstanding those authors.”

Completly misunderstanding how society works is what tech bros do best! 😂

Perhaps not the Magic System we need, but the Magic System we deserve! 😜😂
