Obsidian has definitely gotten more corporate following the Microsoft acquisition.
While I haven't played Avowed or Outer Worlds, from the gameplay videos they don't look very appealing to me. Too much "console style" FPS combat. I strongly prefer 3rd person for RPGs if we are not going with the classical top down view and turn-based combat.

It was fun and all, but it just felt like they threw an existing (and great) lore on top of a generic action game.

LazerouselaserasThey definitely went console-oriented, sure, but honestly why do we even need a nv2??? I know story reasons but then you get muddled with Bethesdas stories. Besides, the guys who made new vegas aren't in the same position, so itd be someone else with a thing they didn't make with even higher expectations. Just make something new. Avowed was insanely middling for me, despite beating it. They should have just made Pillars 3 at that rate.

For me, the FONV was unplayable. No matter what I did the game would crash so often I couldn't get anything done. I think the longest I was able to play in one sitting was like two hours. I tried every stability mod I could find but nothing solved the issue permanently.
That may be your config. I never had issues like these.
Same here, finished without crashes. My computer is modest so I had medium to low settings.
Not sure why they're voting you down for your own experience, but that's unfortunate. It's a fantastic game, and probably the best fallout. Sorry you didn't get a proper chance to enjoy it.
oh yeah, New Vegas on launch was awful with the instability, even the first several patches didnt really seem to help anything. But the story was so good that we kept trying.. and learned to mash F5 every 30 seconds.
