You could just… not play it. Imagine that

You could even play DX Revision, for free

It could also have not been remastered but here we are. Why is this suddenly all on the players? WHY DOES IT NEED TO BE REMADE?

There are lots of reasons for a proper remake:
- Better voice acting for most NPCs
- Better diagetic sound (footsteps and doors are a particular area for improvement)
- Better graphical presentation (dynamic lights, more polygons, improved assets and environment, less need for strange corridors to hide loading)
- Nicer keybindings (no more right square bracket to use the sniper scope)
- Improved combat AI
- Improved world simulation (crowds, object interaction, hacking
- A chance to adjust skills and augmentations that could be more useful in the original

I imagine that just like with System Shock 2 remaster, they will pull the original GOTY for sale (that could be had for as little as 0.50 in some sales

The Deus Ex collection is 77% off on steam right now

EXACTLY. and with the remaster as the only choice you'll never see it cheap again. Max you'll likely see a discount in the future of like $15.00 or $20.00

Why would the remaster be the only choice? They aren't removing the original.

They didn't remove the original System Shock 2 in the beginning either. But they did last month on the 10th.

With how tempting and cheap the OG has been, and the option apparently to switch graphics anytime in the remaster, there isn't any financial incentives to keep both for sale.

They'll bundle the original GOTY.... But for $30 now

That, ah, doesn't quite seem to be the approach being taken with the DX remaster. "They really turned those 1999 graphics into 2003 graphics," wrote one disgruntled fan in the immediate aftermath of the game's reveal. "How did someone not realise how awful those visuals look?" asked another.

A remaster shouldn't just be about "upgrading" the graphics, but also being mindful of the overall aesthetic. The whole thing sounds like a project by an executive who probably never played the original Deus Ex and only vaguely knows anything about it.

You still assume they even know anything about Deus Ex at all. It is much more likely they just told someone to find an old IP that they can "remaster" and sell like it's new again, like so many others are doing.

I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. :)

I never asked for this.

as much as this looks like a soulless cash grab, I at least hope that this drives some publicity for Deus Ex so that we can eventually get a new game.

Be careful what you wish for!

Snoop Dog x Deus Ex: AI Slop Edition

at this point, I don't care. I need closure from Mankind Divided damn it!

I JUST saw an ad for some Snoop Dogg mobile game this morning and reflected on how far he's fallen.

The last good thing I remember him doing was call Kanye an Uncle Tom which is ironic considering what a corporate shill he's become

Snoop Dogg is this definition of uncool, low effort corporate trash.

Consider what Deus Ex is about and then consider Embracer owns Deus Ex now.

It's impossible they'd ever write a sequel of any depth.

“See, the remaster didn’t sell… people don’t care about DX anymore, so it’s not worth trying to do the final game”

Sadly I expect that to happen. Or something like it.
