There is no Russian city called Leningrad anymore, but apparently no one bothered to tell Donald Trump.

What do you mean "concerns"? Everybody with a working brain knows his ain't ticking right.

They're just trying to bide as much time as they can to use him as the fall guy for anything and everything.

That way they can wave hands at all the shit up until now when they instill someone like JD Vance who will actually be worse.

Comments from other communities

.......... sparks?

I hate it here. Fucker has been riddled with syphilis and shitting himself since the 1980s and we allowed him to take the presidency twice.

Don't forget the child rapes.

I won't shut up about it.

I had to explain to my father that, because of the wording of the new york penal code, the only reason that trump isn't a convicted rapist is that the defendant could not assert on the stand whether Donald Trump penetrated her with his penis or his finger. Digital rape is a sexual assault charge. Rape needs a penis.

I wonder why she couldn't tell the difference. South Park again more on point than expected.

Smoldering dementia

Bush fire dementia

That evidently resonates with republican voters

he speaks to their cognitive ability

"Act like a dumbshit and they'll treat you like an equal."

The cons really took that quote from JR "Bob" Dobbs to heart...

They lack the slack for that.

Are there citations for this? I’m genuinely asking, for context and so I can feel comfortable repeating it.

Edit: I don’t understand why this deserves a downvote. Im not defending Trump. I’m not trolling. I legit wanna hear stories about Trump shitting himself and the signs he has syphilis.

The poop thing I'll have to find the article.
The syphilis is bold speculation from me and me alone.

You ask for logic in a place of feelings. People are here to hate, not tot think.

During his campaign last year, Trump thought that Johnny Carson was still alive and available to take back the Tonight Show.

Not a peep from the media or even Lemmy. It was, "Biden senile."

He thinks Hannibal Lecter is real, dead, and a fan of his. He's obviously fictional, neither the character in any media he's been portrayed in or any of the actors who portrayed him have died, and the character's second most well known trait (you know, after the whole cannibal thing) is his absolute disdain for rude, vulgar people, and none of the actors have displayed a fondness for Donald either. His closing message before the election was about how much he loved deceased golfer Arnold Palmer's apparently enormous dick.

He kept bringing up Hannibal Lector because he doesnt know the difference between an insane asylum and political asylum.

His campaign really fell apart there near the end. It was way worse than pretty much everyone realizes. He would just abruptly quit ranting and start dancing to the same song repeatedly.

And it ended up not mattering even a little bit.

Which makes me constantly switch between wonder if the voting was really legit, and how dumb this electorate is. Both are depressing and make me want to flee the US.

I don't doubt that there was some shenanigans, but the defeat was so total and immediate in all the battleground states I question whether they could have rigged it THAT well. I was expecting a months-long slugfest.

Oh they "rigged" it, but they did it very openly. Elon Musk went to all the key states and bribed voters with his checks and his lottery and it was all ruled completely legal because technically anyone could sign up even though it was very obviously set up to pay off people to vote for Trump.

That is what I don't get big Biden fud anybody that he would have been crucified, but Trump not a peap.

Child rapist has Alzheimer's... duh.

Motherfucker should be removed from office. Between bootlickers & insanely spineless politicians it'll never happen.

Motherfucker Daughterfucker should be removed from office.

FTFY.

Release the Trump/Epstein Files, or just eject the Pedophile in Chief from the whitehouse.

It would take all 20 Republican seats to get flipped in 2026 to have any chance at all of removing Trump cuz you know not a single fucking republican will vote to remove his ass.

They might. It's political suicide to turn on him one at a time. But they're not all idiots.

If some of them see an opportunity, they might turn. It just needs to be coordinated and effective. Because if you take that shot, you better not miss.

Every Republican is an idiot. 100%. They're all the enemy. They're a part of a self serving idiocracy but like all idiots they're too stupid to competently serve themselves, either.

Surely this will save us

The president's age was all the news could talk about until Biden dropped out. Suddenly it wasn't a problem anymore.

Also! Inflation and whether or not it was the president's fault, and all the Palestine protests and how Democrats (only Democrats) were facing a lot of heat for their support of Israel. Almost as if our media is corrupted by partisan influences that are trying to mislead and influence people, and it works shockingly well.

It should be an even bigger issue when he is out of shape and gross. We will just have some other neoreactionary psycho afterwards. At least they would not be gross.

Why are we using not having dementia as the intellectual benchmark for someone to lead a country. Dude can’t read or do basic maths let alone understand more complex economics or geopolitics.

Even when he fails the dementia test we will resort to simply checking for a pulse, and I bet once he dies it will be covered up for as long as possible.

You know, I wonder how far they'll take medical technicalities in the future. Could they keep the current SCOTUS on the bench for 200 years as a morbid ship of Theseus because it's a lifetime appointment? Just replace their organs with machinery as they fail?

What if Roberts' brain-in-a-jar occasionally drifted into sentience just to mouthlessly scream about how disappointed he is that nobody respects the court anymore? It would at least make me feel a little better.

Had to be provided briefings in infographic and have it explained because his brain is fuckin putty.

But no concern about him being a rapist and a pedophile and GIVING ALASKA TO RUSSIA???

Resident. Just let it happen. I don't know how folks would actually respond.

How can you tell if someone that dumb has dementia?

They forget they are dumb

Not surprising. Anyways, release the Epstein files you old demented child fucker.

I've been "concerned" about his mental health since 2015

I was never concerned ..... I always knew he was an idiot ... now, not only is he an idiot .. he's an old demented idiot

And the best part is ... the best and brightest of America decided he was the man for the top job!

No, “the best and brightest” just make up a much smaller percentage of the electorate than was necessary.

At this point I’m also not convinced the convicted fraudster and his white-supremacist gang of ghouls simply flat-out rigged the election while the “both sides” folks tried hard not to notice.

A White House spokesperson wrote the following statement, in part: “Joe Biden started this brutal war, and President Trump is trying to stop the killing.”

No, Dementia Donnie is standing in the nearby carwash wrapped in tissue paper trying to play checkers with a rubber chicken as one of play pieces.

When he talked about prisons he was going on about Alcatraz and sing sing, like were in the days of the shawshank redemption or something

Corporate News Sewers: Hey now that trump is predisent again, doesn't it seem like he’s so demented people should be concerned?

Everyone not a MAGAt: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

The first part of that headline really excited me for a second

Was it “the Cold War never ended,” because that’s actually true 🤣

He... he thinks he CAN get Moscow and "Leningrad" for free? 🤔 You don't trade cities like sports players...

I thought the long winded rambling about medians in the middle of his conference declaring martial law on Washington was a pretty big red flag

The discrepancy between the reporting of Biden's word fumbles and Trump's word diarrhea tells you all you need to know about mass media.

I was tearing my hair out people losing their shit at Biden taking a second to remember a word, while Trump got to speak like a fucking lunatic, without rhyme or reason, just because he's cocked up and speaks faster.

I've been reading the "Politician I Don't Like Has Dementia" for 40 fucking years.

Please either put up or shut up.

It's even worse when one side in it's entirety says "this person has dementia and is unfit to lead", then immediately chooses to vote for the person that's roughly the same age instead of somebody two decades younger.

When the progressive or leftist or liberal group says it, they mean it. When the right wing media says it, they are just repeating the normal propaganda news cycle.

When the progressive or leftist or liberal group says it, they mean it.

Biden, Sanders, Trump... :-/

Like, it's clear the issue isn't simply age.

Biden literally quit the election because of it. Republicans don't do that shit.

None of those 3 are part of the same political party

Also, nobody was saying Bernie had dementia when he was running for president.

two decades younger.

We need somebody four decades younger than the current president.

Pretty sure Reagan from 40 years ago put right the fuck up. 😆

Im all for calling out Trump for his senility as much as the next guy, but this is kind of reaching to call a dementia moment...even I didnt know Leningrad wasn't a city anymore. And im in my 30s, far from senile..Hell, I didnt know it was called Saint Petersburg before. And it was only renamed St. Petersburg in the 90s sometime. Probably something you'd only know if you are actually a Russian citizen, or live there.

Or you know... googled it just now and read the Wikipedia article on it.

Edit: Wow, didnt realize calling out an article for its bullshit would be a controversial opinion. I'd ask my mom if she knows where St. Petersburg and Leninburg are at, but I already know she wouldn't know they were the same city...ya'll can stop telling me how common knowledge this is now. I dont care.

Edit 2: just for funsies, I asked my mom (in her 60s btw) if she knew where Leningrad was...she had no idea.

No, if you were old enough when the Berlin Wall came down and had any interest in world news, you would know about Leningrad and St. Petersburg. I guess if you're young enough, that's not part of the zeitgeist for you. I'm kind of surprised you'd heard of Leningrad, to be honest.

For someone with Trump's upbringing, not knowing this is either dementia or he's always been an idiot. Given when he was running in 2016 he didn't know the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas, I would lean toward idiot.

Yeah, I was still learning to talk when the Berlin wall came down...

No excuse! No nuanced discussion!

I only know of Leningrad from the glut of WW2 games. But I know nothing but the name, and it being associated with WW2.

I might even still be wrong!

That's probably Stalingrad.

You’re not the president

Probably something you’d only know if you are actually a Russian citizen, or live there.

It's generally known. It's not an obscure fact, at least outside of the USA. I agree with you that this is weak evidence of dementia. But since this is a basic fact any politician dealing with Russia should know, it's at least evidence (if we needed any) that Trump is not qualified for the job of President.

It's not obscure in the USA, either.

I don't know, I would say after the fall of the Soviet Union its renaming was fairly common knowledge if you lived through that (even outside the former Soviet States)

I mean, sure, I lived through it, but I was still learning to walk and talk at that point so...

Fair, but I mostly meant people who really experienced and remembered it. Aged around 50+ (like Trump).

So forgetting that... Not a big deal. Remembering its old name first... OK, not remembering the current name after the old one - weird. And, finally, doing that constantly in many occasions, sign of mental problems.

I just asked my over 60 year old mother where Leningrad was and she had no idea. I told her it was St. Petersburg...so, just a single data point. But, it ain't as ubiquitous as all you old farts seem to think it is :P

I had to look it up because my brain was insisting that Vladivostok changed names (it didn't, shut it scumbag brain!)

List of Russian city name changes. More than I expected:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_renamed_cities_and_towns_in_Russia

Or you know... If you're the president of the USA.

The... the fucking president of the United States should know about St. Petersburg. I don't care if it's senility or not bothering to read or learn anything since the 1980s.

YOU don't have to know. But a president not knowing is terrifying. He has to have at least some knowledge of the countries he's dealing with. It's his job.

Most Americans, if you ask about "St. Petersburg" are going to go "Florida?"

I'm starting to think it was a regional thing. I went to school when it was still Leningrad, and we learned about Hegel, Marx, Lenin, the Bolsheviks, the Russian Revolution, and the renaming of St. Petersburg. Maybe that's why it stuck more when it was changed back.

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam!

Why'd they change it?

I can't say.

Maybe they liked it better that way. shrug

Yeah, well, if you believe the comments in response to mine and the downvotes, its common knowledge everywhere and Im just an idiot..
