Bisexuality usually refers to sexual preference, alongside homosexuality and heterosexuality. Shouldn't this post be referring to the flower as hermaphroditic rather than bisexual?

Either than or intersex. But definitely not bisexual. This is not what bisexual means at all!

Yes, bisexual means something else in both contexts...

Tomatoes are awesome this way, and why they're so easy to grow. Even without bees. A stiff breeze is enough to make them pollinate. Perfect bisexual.

Yep. Pepper plants as well. I just give mine a good shake unless I'm crossing specific varieties in a wind-less environment looking for specific outcomes.

If I've got a cool cross I'll put it under grow lights in the garage and pollinate it by using a cotton swab. If everything works out in a few generations I have a neat new breed by self pollinating a cross breed.

Edit: I'm not growing peppers in a Windows environment. That'll teach me to comment while drunk! (No it won't)

Cliestogamy - flowers that pollinate themselves.

Confused - I like flowers but don't have a blog.

Impossible!

Monosexual imperfect flower meanwhile: I exist too, you know.
