Image text: I'm reminded of the case of Phineas Gage who while cruising down I-80 was rear-ended and his metal beverage straw went straight through the center of his skull.

The metal straw is preserved and remains a famous medical specimen at the Anatomy and Pathology Museum at UC San Francisco.
